Cyanotype art blends with aquamarine splendor as seamlessly as the sea washing across the sandy shore. Gift yourself or a loved one a reminder of the beauty and mystery of the sea and all its creatures, real and imaginary.

Our studio is located between the great redwood forests and the magical Mendocino Coast, a place of beauty and wonder. Lighthouses, fishing harbors, rocky cliffs and windswept villages blur the lines between past and present.

Sometimes the most mundane, everyday things can reveal their full beauty in the right light. I imagine the artists who created decorative serving glassware saw beauty in their work, glass designs that would hold cold cuts, crackers, cheese, butter. These Cyanotype prints have restored and elevated the beauty of these serving platters to fine artwork.

Making Cyanotype prints of celestial objects began as a study in contrast between an artistic process discovered in the 1840s and images taken by various telescopes and spacecraft that represent the most modern science. But of course, they're simply beautiful, regardless of the original intent. These images are available for free on the NASA website.

One of the first uses of the Cyanotype process in the 1800s was for recording the basic shape and structures of new plants discovered by naturalists studying the uncharted expanse of North America. The Mendocino Coast is bursting with native grasses, flowers and flora with dramatic and unfettered flair.
